The Growth
Dividends scheme, announced in Budget 2008, is part of the Government’s move to share the nation’s surpluses with Singaporeans. Lower-income Singaporeans will receive more. The Growth Dividends scheme will cost the Government $865 million. The GST Offset Package is a set of comprehensive measures announced in Budget 2007 to help Singaporeans with the increase in GST, with more for lower-income Singaporeans. The GST Offset Package will cost the government $4 billion over 5 years. It includes among other schemes, the GST Credits, Senior Citizens' Bonus and Top-Ups to Post-Secondary Education Accounts schemes. For a full listing of schemes, please click here.
